Privacy Policy — Context AAC

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use Context AAC and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

Context AAC is built as an offline-first application. All of Your communication data — Your messages, phrases, behavioral context, and AI model — is stored and processed entirely on Your device. We use Amplitude for anonymized product analytics only. We do not collect personal data, sell data, display advertising, or use Your information to train external models.

By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy You are also agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Weave Chat.
  • Device means any device that can access the Application, such as a mobile phone or tablet.
  • On-Device Data means all data that is created, stored, and processed locally on Your Device by the Application, including communication history, behavioral context, AI model data, and personalization preferences. On-Device Data never leaves Your Device.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. For the purposes of the CCPA, Personal Data means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with You.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to anonymized analytics data collected automatically by third-party Service Providers, such as feature interaction events, session length, and device type.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Data That Stays On Your Device

Context AAC is designed as an offline-first application. The following data is created, stored, and processed entirely on Your Device. It is never transmitted to Our servers or any third party:

  • Communication History — Phrases, messages, and words You compose using the Application.
  • User Context — Usage patterns, preferred phrases, time-of-day habits, topic associations, and tone preferences built up over time.
  • Location Context — Approximate location categories (e.g., home, work, medical) used to personalize suggestions, if permission is granted.
  • Behavioral Data — Board interactions, prediction acceptance patterns, phrase frequency, and feature usage within the Application.
  • AI Model & Context — The locally downloaded language model and the personalized context it uses to generate suggestions and predictions.

No communication content, context data, AI model data, or inference results ever leave Your Device. The on-device AI model runs entirely locally and does not make network requests. If You delete the Application, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Data Collected by Third Parties

Context AAC does not collect Personal Data. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information. The only data transmitted off Your Device is anonymized product analytics through the following Service Provider:

Amplitude (Product Analytics)

Context AAC uses Amplitude to collect anonymized product analytics. This helps Us understand how the Application is used at a feature level so We can improve it over time.

What Amplitude collects:

  • Application events such as screen views, feature interactions, and button taps
  • Device type, operating system version, and Application version
  • Session length and frequency of use
  • General geographic region at the country or region level — not precise location
  • A randomly assigned, anonymized device identifier

What Amplitude does not collect:

  • Any message content, phrases, or words You type or select
  • Your personal identity, name, email address, or contact information
  • Precise GPS coordinates or location data
  • Any data from Your personal communication context or AI model
  • Any On-Device Data as defined in this policy

Amplitude data is used solely for product improvement. You can opt out of analytics data collection at any time in the Application's Settings.

Their Privacy Policy can be viewed at https://amplitude.com/privacy

Information from Third-Party Services

Context AAC does not share Your data with any third parties beyond the anonymized analytics described above. Context AAC does not display advertising of any kind.

We do not support any social or federated login. This means that You cannot log in through any Third-party Social Media Services, such as Google, Facebook, and/or Apple.

Location Data

If You grant location permission, Context AAC uses Your Device's location to infer a context category — such as "home," "work," or "medical setting" — to surface more relevant phrase suggestions. This inference happens entirely on-device.

  • Precise location coordinates are never transmitted off Your Device
  • Location data is never shared with Amplitude or any other third party
  • You can revoke location permission at any time in Your Device's Settings

Permissions

Permission Status Purpose
Location Optional Infer context category for smarter phrase suggestions — processed on-device only
Storage Required Download and cache the AI language model locally on Your Device
Speech Optional Text-to-speech playback of composed messages — no audio is recorded or transmitted

Children and Minors

Context AAC is an augmentative and alternative communication tool that may be used by individuals of all ages, including children. Because the Application is designed as offline-first and does not collect Personal Data, the privacy protections described in this policy apply equally to all users regardless of age.

The only off-device data collection is anonymized Amplitude analytics, which does not include any personally identifiable information and cannot be used to identify any individual user, including children. No communication content, phrases, or behavioral context is ever transmitted off the Device.

Parents, guardians, and caregivers can disable analytics data collection entirely in the Application's Settings. If You believe any personal information has been inadvertently collected from a child, please contact Us and We will take prompt steps to investigate and address it.

Data Retention

On-Device Data is retained on Your Device until You delete it manually within the Application or uninstall the Application. You have full control over this data at all times.

Amplitude analytics data is retained in accordance with Amplitude's data retention policies. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify You or reconstruct Your communication history.

Security of Your Data

The security of Your data is important to Us. Because Context AAC processes and stores data on Your Device rather than on remote servers, Your data benefits from the security protections built into Your Device — including device encryption, biometric lock, and operating system-level application sandboxing.

The on-device AI model runs locally and does not make network requests during inference. Analytics data sent to Amplitude is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS).

While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your data, remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

Because Context AAC does not collect or store Personal Data on any server, many traditional data rights (access requests, deletion requests, portability) are inherently satisfied by the Application's on-device architecture — Your data is already entirely in Your possession.

You can exercise the following controls at any time:

  • Opt out of analytics — disable Amplitude data collection in the Application's Settings
  • Delete all on-device data — clear Application data or uninstall the Application to permanently remove all locally stored information
  • Revoke permissions — disable location, storage, or speech permissions in Your Device's Settings at any time

We do not discriminate against any user for exercising their privacy rights.

Disclosure and Legal Requirements

Because Context AAC does not collect or store Personal Data on any server, We have no user data to disclose. In the event of a legal request from law enforcement or a government agency, We would only be able to provide the anonymized, aggregated analytics data held by Amplitude, which cannot identify individual users.

The Company may disclose available information in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, this Privacy Policy would continue to apply. We will provide notice before any material change to how data is handled.
